Junior Tennis Season Comes to a Close!
| |
We had a fun awards dinner and ceremony on Thursday, September 1st. It was great to let Baja Fresh do the cooking! Please see the team awards given below. In addition, each participant that played in at least one Tyson's cup match received a trophy. All team members received a team participation award. Finally, we did our much anticipated point prize allocation. There were many great prizes, including new tennis racquets, bags, and other tennis stuff!
If you were not able to attend the awards dinner, trophies (for Tyson cup players and receipients of special awards) and participation awards can be picked up from the Promisel's front porch at 8938 Glenbrook Road.

The Al Bobst award is named in honor of a much-loved Mantua resident who was an avid tennis player and ultimate team member. He was an extraordinary athlete who lettered in 4 sports (football, basketball, track and tennis) at Western Maryland College. He was a leader, a team player, and a winner in sports and in life. His greatest characteristic was his sheer joy of competition as an individual and as a team member.
