Welcome to the 2011 Dive Team season. We are looking forward to everyone returning. Feel free to contact our coaches at any time to arrange private lessons.

Dive team practice will begin Tuesday, May 31. Your diver can either come at 3:30 or 4:30 for a one-hour session. You can register on-line at this site or at the registration event in April or with the coaches once the season begins. The fee is $70 per diver. The dive team has a team suit which you can purchase at Suit-Up at University Shopping Center. It isn't required, but encouraged. It's the same suit as the swim team is using this year.

Congratulations to all of the Mantua divers for a great meet. With only 18 divers diving, we did very well. Congratulations especially to Catherine DeScisciolo for her first place in freshman girls (and delaying her vacation to do her last dive), to Kyle Strandberg for his first place in freshman boys and to Jake Retting for his first place in senior boys. Also, to Jeanne-Marie Pelletier for her second place in Junior Girls, Emily Travis for her second place in Intermediate Girls and Jonathan Falcone for his second place in intermediate boys. Thanks to our outstanding coaches, judges, tableworkers, chef and concession workers. We could not do a meet without all of you.

The 2nd A meet resulted in our second loss 26-46, but our divers dove very well against a much bigger team. Congratulations to all the divers and thanks to all the parents for their help at the meet and especially to our great coaches.

The 3rd A meet resulted in our third loss 28-44, but our divers dove extremely well and we had 11 freshman boys diving, a first. Congratulations to all our divers and coaches for a job well done. It was really nice to have so many of the team and parents go to dinner together after the meet.

We had 13 divers dive at Divisionals today. Four qualified for All-Stars and will be diving there next Sunday. Come out and see some great diving. Catherine DeScisciolo was 1st in Freshman girls, Kyle Strandberg was 2nd in Freshman boys, Jake Retting was 2nd in Senior Boys and Connor Shannon was 3rd in Senior Boys.

We had three divers dive at All-Stars today and they all did great. Kyle Strandberg was the 2011 Freshman Boys Champion, also breaking his own freshman boys record at Mantua. Catherine DeScisciolo placed 10th in Freshman Girls and Jacob Retting placed 7th in Senior Boys in his last dive meet as a graduating senior.
